Inuyasha and Kagome develop several allies throughout their journey, as Miroku, Shippo, Sango and Kirara. In sharp contrast to the usually comedic nature of much of the previous work of Takahashi, Inuyasha deals with subject matter that is darker, utilizing the setting of the Sengoku period to readily show the content that is violent. The narrative starts on the fifteenth birthday of Kagome Higurashi, a girl who lives with her mom, grandpa and little brother on the property of her family's hereditary Shinto shrine in Tokyo. When she goes to the good house to retrieve her cat, a centipede demon pulls the girl into it and bursts out of the enshrined Bone Eater's Well. The centipede demon is shown to have been after a magic jewel before being slain with a priestess named Kikyo, called the Shikon Jewel. Animated by the power in our time of the Shikon Jewel and mistaking her for Kikyo, the devil tries to kill the jewel to be gained by Kagome. The youth is shown by the nearby villagers to be , a half-dog demon who had been sealed by way of a perishing Kikyo fifty years back after being seemingly betrayed by her and trying to take the Shikon Jewel (which allows any wish the bearer want) to be able to be a full demon. After his dad's sword Tetsusaiga is gained by Inuyasha and is subdued by a charming necklace to keep him in line, he helps Kagome in coping with all the hazards they cause and gathering the shards. The two are joined in their own pursuit the somewhat revived Kikyo and from the young fox demon Shippo while coping with third parties groups like Inuyasha's older brother Sesshomaru, whose own version of what occurred years past brings the occasions into question. When joined a perverted monk whose bloodline is cursed, by Miroku, Kagome and Inuyasha learn the truth: the first disagreement between Kikyo and Inuyasha, disclosed to initially be fans, was due to a devious half-demon named Naraku. The developing Naraku is disclosed to have been born from your spirit of an evil guy named Onigumo inhabiting a body made within a pact by innumerable devils and who additionally put the hex on the family of Miroku. Sango, a devil slayer whose family was killed when her younger brother Kohaku fell under Naraku's control shortly joins after Inuyasha's group. Over time, Tetsusaiga abilities are enhanced by Inuyasha as he competes with Naraku's minion avatars like Kagura as well as the reanimated Band of Seven. The team of Inuyasha is broadly allied by Sesshomaru, Kikyo, as well as Koga who desires to avenge his comrades while flirting with Kagome was named by a wolf demon. While his heart is briefly removed by Naraku in the type of the Infant, who after tries to overthrow Naraku through his boat Moryomaru, Kohaku recovers his freewill and memories, as he tries to help out of remorse for indirectly killing his dad. With , matters settle throughout that time to empower his brother to its best capabilities to perfect Tetsusaiga. Because point, the Sengoku period changes dramatically: Miroku and Sango have three kids together; Kohaku restarts his journey to be a devil slayer that is powerful as his company with Kirara; and the seventh position is attained by Shippo as a fox demon. Rikuo Nura, a kid that is part human and a quarter youkai (demon), lives in a house full of spirits along with his youkai grandfather. Trying to escape his fate of acting like a demon, he does good deeds in order to avoid becoming one despite his grandfather's wish to succeed him as master of the Nura youkai clan. First published as a oneshot in 2007, it later became a series in 2008.

From Shoujo-Sense: A girl named Haru and her big brother suddenly appear in town. Her brother, being an akuma, is shunned by the people. But, he gets them to bring him to the chief of the town where he offers to bury the akuma - Godot - who has been living in the town for 5 years. Can this "akuma eater" accomplish this task?

Yuu Watase's Masterpiece Collection Volume 5 consists of four stories. 1) Mint de Kiss Me - There is a legend that if you kiss the man you like with a mint candy in your mouth, you can become one with your love. Misono is a rather superstitious girl who decides to test this out on Tohno-sensei, a young teacher she has a crush on. Unfortunately for her, she makes a mistake in the attempt to surprise him and instead kisses her fellow classmate Shindou. Of course this would be the time for the legend to work quite literally as Misono’s spirit enters Shindou’s body. 2) Genseika - Chiya goes to school with her friends and witnesses one of them die suddenly as a flower bursts out of him. The three friends had been together since elementary school, the death hitting Chiya and Yutaka hard. When other people begin dying from the flowers, they investigate possible reasons for such usual deaths. To her surprise, she finds answers close to home. 3) Furimuke Romance! - The hero of girls targeted by guys peeking into the locker room, Taka has quite the violent tomboy reputation. But all she wants is for some handsome guy to ask her out. A cheerful street vender, Ryouta gives her a special ring with a heart locket pendent to hold pictures. When two photos are enclosed, romance is in the air. 4) Hang in there Nakago (Part I) - Involves the scenario where Fushigi Yuugi was actually done by real actors. Unfortunately, Nakago (stage name) is a lot more unconfident than the character he plays. At least his one main fan, an unnamed woman with flowers, is there to support him through his worries.

From Yen Press: Michiru Kita’s a weak-spirited girl who has a hard time saying what’s on her mind. One day, she notices mysterious, ring-like markings around the necks of two of her classmates, Chika Akatsuki and Shito Tachibana — two boys who miraculously survived a horrible accident six months before. Michiru, possessing the rare ability to see these rings, knows that they warn of impending death. Watanuki Kimihiro is a high school student plagued by yokai and ayakashi – spirits with a strong attraction to him. The spirits are invisible to others and encounters with them are extremely troublesome. When he stumbles into a shop that grants wishes, however, events in his life promise to become more unusual. The shop is owned by Yuuko Ichihara – a mysterious and beautiful (sometimes playful) witch of many names and esoteric renown. For a price, she offers to grant Watanuki's wish to be rid of the spirits. The price, according to Yuuko, must be of equal value and so, as payment, he temporarily becomes Yuuko's part-time employee – a maid to be precise! Watanuki's job also seems to consist of small errands dealing with the supernatural including the household chores. His love interest Himawari Kunogi, and "rival" Doumeki Shizuka, occasionally join him in his work as per Yuuko's request. The three become increasingly close despite Watanuki's annoyance with Doumeki. Yuuko constantly refers to "hitsuzen", meaning inevitability, destiny, or fate, as being the driving force in the world. She states that there is no such thing as coincidence, and that every single action and decision is inevitable, because without them, other related events in the future could not happen.
